The 2010 Ryder Cup was held at Celtic Manor in Newport, which has three championship courses and is within easy reach

The Wye Valley and the Royal Forest of Dean are stunningly beautiful with a diverse range of attractions and places to visit that cater for all ages and tastes.
For walkers there are many public footpaths to beauty spots that offer a paradise for serious hikers, ramblers or after lunch strollers.
The Wye Valley is renouned for its salmon fishing and a mile or so distant from Stowe Court is Bigsweir fishery. Offering several beats on a 2.5 mile double bank stretch it also has fishing in a well stocked trout pond.
Close to the Granary and Stables are the historic villages of St Briavels, with its ancint moated castle and Tintern, renowned for its impressive Cistercian Abbey.
The Cotswolds, Malvern and Welsh Hills are within easy driving distance and the cathedral citis of Gloucester and Hereford are within 25 miles. Ross-on-Wye is 15 miles, Chepstow 10 miles and the border town of Monmouth 7 miles.
